The History of Early Childhood Education and it's Role in Society

The course is part of the Preschool Teacher Program, semester 2.

The course provides an introduction to preschool as a social institution and the opportunity to develop the ability to scientifically reflect on the emergence of preschool from a curriculum-historical and contemporary historical perspective. Based on joint text studies, it is discussed and analyzed how changes in society and the positions of important actors have influenced which institutions for care, upbringing and learning have developed since the mid-19th century until today.







The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
