Dutch-language literature from a transnational perspective

In this course we study how Dutch-language literature travels across nations, cultures and languages. We use contemporary theories and methods from the sociology of translation to describe and analyse the transnational circulation of Dutch-language authorships. During the course students practice in presenting and discussing their findings in an academic way both in spoken and written Dutch. This course is taught online and welcomes students from all around the world!
The course is useful for all professions and jobs where advanced knowledge of the Dutch language, Dutch-language literature and the culture of the Dutch-speaking countries, as well as advanced skills in scientific text production are required or a competitive advantage.
This course can be taken as an independent course at advanced level but it is also one of the compulsory courses for students that want to obtain a Master’s Degree (60 credits) in Dutch or a Master’s Degree (120 credits) in Dutch. Read more about our master and courses at advanced level here:

This course is given online and consists of lectures and seminars.
The language of instruction is primarily Dutch, although some lectures and seminars might be held in English as well. The course literature includes articles both in Dutch and in English. Attendance at all classes is mandatory.
Grading criteria
Assessment
The course is examined by a written assignment and an oral presentation. The language of examination is Dutch.
