Probability and Statistics for Teachers

Probability and Statistics for Teachers is only given in Swedish, and more information can be found on the Swedish version of this page.

The course covers: The concept of probability. Random variables. Some discrete and continuous distributions i.e. the binomial and the normal distributions. Expected value and variance. Something about the central limit theorem. Something about simple statistical metods: estimation and confidence intervals. Presentation of statistical material: mean, median, standard deviation and different types of diagrams. Something about planning of statistical investigation. Intepretation and critical examination of statistical results.







The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.


Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
