Cultural perspectives on Swedish Identity

Sweden has often been described as a homogeneous country with exemplary characteristics. However, images of national identity can be questioned and examined.

This course explores how Swedishness has been shaped through cultural boundary-making. It provides an introduction to culture as a concept and offers tools to analyze Swedish identity in various contexts.

The course consists of one module, Cultural Perspectives on Swedishness (3 credits).

Teaching Format

The teaching consists of pre-recorded lectures and self-study with assignments. The teaching is online and takes place remotely.

Assessment

The course is assessed by written assignments.

Examiner
