Spoken and written language is analysed from a socio-pragmatic perspective, particularly in view of the extralinguistic factors that affect communication and that explain linguistic choices and linguistic variation. Pragmatic phenomena such as social politeness and self-image are given special attention in the course.

The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
