Latvian Language Proficiency IV
If you have been accepted to the course, then you will receive more information concerning registration in August. The course starts week 39.
The course covers Latvian grammar corresponding to the CEFRL level A2.2, and provides both theoretical knowledge about the Latvian language and practical language skills for oral and written everyday communication.
Course requirements: participation in discussions and seminars on campus or via online platforms, the university internet platform or other channel. Assignment submission deadlines are an obligatory part of the course. Completion of the obligatory assignments are necessary in order to participate in subsequent examinations.
The language of instruction is English.

Instruction is either as distance learning or on campus, according to how the course event is defined.

Expected outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- identify and analyze grammatical structures in Latvian texts corresponding to the CEFR level A2.2
- translate texts to Latvian corresponding to the CEFR level A2.2 with the use of aids
- carry out simple conversations in standard Latvian
- express oneself in writing in standard Latvian.
Assessment
The course is examined through submitted assignments. Continual examination takes place through one written assignment submission in connection with each seminar. The basis for grading the separate examination assignments are explained in the grading criteria.
The examination takes place in English.
